• Military Service: 5 Sep 1864, Nashville, TN. 9,10 Co. F. 176th O.V.I.:

This Regiment was organized at Columbus, Sandusky, Wooster, Alliance Camp Chase and Circleville, OH, from Aug. 10 - Sep. 21, 1864, to serve one year. As soon as the organization was completed the Regiment was ordered to Nashville, TN, and assigned to the Second Brigade, Fourth Div., Twentieth Army Corps. Soon after its arrival it was details to perform provost-guard duty at Nashville, and during the battle of Nashville it was in the works; but, with the exception of a few companies under Major Cummings, the Regiment was not engaged. It was mustered out June 14, 1865, in accordance with orders from the War Dept.

Organized for one years service September 21, 1864, under Colonel Edwin C. Mason, it moved to Nashville and during the siege and battle at that place was in the works. Many of the officers and men were veteran soldiers and were proficient in drill and discipline. The Regiment was mustered out June 18, 1865.
