Posted by Louise Hewitt <CACE5792@aol.com> on Sun, 02 Jul 2000, in response to Benjamin Ramer d: 1839, posted by Becky Johnson on Sun, 02 Jul 2000 Surname: Ramer Becky I know the Benjamin that died 1839 is not the one listed in your Jacob's will, but is there some connection. I know very little on the Ramer line. My g-grandfather was Frederick Ramer/Raymer, son of John. His brothers were John Jr., Amos, Jacob, Samuel, Jesse and sister Barbary. Frederick was born in 1824. His father was John, mother ?? John Jr. died in 1839 also. He is buried at Jefferson Cemetery beside Benjamin and a child of Samuel's who also died in 1839. I am wondering what the connection of this Benjamin is to my Ramer family. The Benjamin that died in 1839 is listed as being 54yr 10mo 3da. He would have been born ca 1785. My Frederick lists his parents as being born in Maryland. I am trying to connect with any other Ramer/Ramor/Reamer/Roemer/Raymer (these are spellings I have found. Thanks for your response.

I gather so far that he was born in Pennsylvania and >married a Mary Lenhart who'se father was most likely Stophle Lenhart. I >thought I knew of all of their children but now it looks like I have a >bit of confusion with them. Children that I show at this time are; >John, Christopher, Henry, James, Mary and Polly. These names I found in >the "Biographical and Genealogical History of Cass, Miami, Howard and >Tipton Counties, Indiana". Today I found a query that inferred that >Mary and Polly are the same person, a nickname or middle name perhaps. >They also showed a George in place of my Christopher. Will have to >check a lot further on the children. John Reamer/Ramer is the one that >I go through. I know that he married a Jones in either Coshocton or >Tuscarawas county, Ohio but I do not have a date and cannot make out the >brides first name on any thing I have seen as yet. John fought in the >War of 1812 as did his father Adam, and I have John's pension papers. >He died January 12, 1881 in Miami county, Indiana. His wife died much >earlier. >I have Henry born May 17, 1796 in Strasburg, Pennsylvania. He married >Catherine Jones , January 03, 1820 in Tuscarawas county, OHio. The date >of death of Henry is about 1893 in coshocton county, Ohio. I read that >Adam and Mary died there as well but I have no place of burial for any >of them. >James Reamer/Ramer was born about 1807 in Pennsylvania and he married a >Catherine Moore. He died March 03, 1885 and he and Catherine are buried >in Miami county, Indiana. I have the name of the cemetery but don't >have it by me at the moment. >Mary/Polly Reamer was said to have married a John Hosack, May 05, 1831 >in Tuscarawas county, Ohio. This information came from Donald >Grossman. I e-mailed him this evening to ask him about it. >I am going to try and get down to Peru sometime in the next month or so >and hopefully clear up some of this. I'm sorry I don't have a lot of >information to give you but hope we can keep in touch and if I find >anything else out for sure, then I will send it on.
