52. Thomas CRAGO Jr., son of Thomas CRAGO Sr. and Elizabeth FLENNIKEN , was born on 28 Dec 1759 in Cumberland Co., PA ^20,26 and died in 1843, at age 84.

Birth Notes:

General Notes: Thomas's father, Thomas is killed by Indians in 1770. He and his brother, James, are "returned over the mountains" where they stay, I beleive, with Robert Crago. I am not sure of the relationship between Thomas, Jr. and Robert Crago. Per Brian Smith,"The accounts in the L.K. Evans book suggest that the "Conocheague" settlers actually came from the vicinity of present day Worleytown, PA" Possibly served with the company of Captain Jesse Pigman.

Death Notes:

General Notes: Jesse, along with Thomas Hughes "build a strong stockade, which has ever since been known as old Fort Swan and VanMeter. It was situated near the border of Cumberland Township, on the spot where the house of Andrew J. Young stands". Except from Goshen Baptist Church records, "4 or 5/1788 Met at Muddy Creek according to appointment and proceeded to business viz Agreed to cite Sister Sarah Hill to come to our next meeting of business the Saturday before last Lord's day in July to satisfy the church further concerning her marriage. Brother Azariah Davis and Jesse Vanmetre to cite her to come.". Also, "Saturday 5/25/1810...Jesse Vanmetre refusith to have the Church but declares a non-fellowship for which the Church think proper to exclude him."
